Recap of Week 5:
Art was amazing this week! We continued learning about the works of German renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer, we learned about a famous woodcut he made…”The holy family with three hare”. Everyone enjoyed learning to draw a rabbit using the capital letter B as our base and then moving on to turning their image into a print. The brayers were a hit and the excitement of pulling off the styrofoam to reveal their image was felt by all.
We did not forget about our composer George Fredrick Handel! We have listened to many of his works throughout this quarter. This week we enjoyed an album of his works that were compiled and performed by an orchestra for a British royal fireworks show.
“Some biomes are…” All the classes had so much fun making rainforest biomes. Ours are even sprouting! Even the ones that were handled by a 4 year old transporter!
St. Ignatius class did experiments with speed, velocity and distance. We had balls, paper, eggs, encyclopedias, and stopwatches! And the experiment called for safety googles so they complied! These boys are so much fun!
St. Maximillian Kolbe’s class:
St. Maximilian Kolbe class was full of joyful energy as we did our memory work. They enjoyed playing charades as they picked a verb to act out. We also learned a new game called Hucklebuckle. Where we hid our frog named Hucklebuckle. We reviewed our memory work by reciting memory work louder as the scholar got closer to where he was hidden and quieter as they got further away. Everyone enjoyed having a new friend in class for the day as well.
