CSH Retreat in Dallas!!!

Are you still wondering if you should come on the Come Fill Me weekend? Are you worried about expensive flights?  Are you questioning what makes THIS retreat different than any other retreat?  Let me help you with a few of those questions.

*YES!  You should come!  The Lord has great things in store for you AND for us as a community!  THAT is what makes this weekend different.  This weekend is being planned with YOU in mind.  The Catholic Schoolhouse parent–director, tutor, helper, mom or dad.  You wear MANY hats, and you will be surrounded by those that wear the same hats.  We know you!  We are your tribe!  Bring your besties and come have a cup of coffee with us as we sit around, pray together, learn together, challenge each other, and grow professionally while we brain storm homeschool struggles and celebrate victories.

You will be meeting your sisters from around the country: Florida, Washington, Texas, Maryland, Indiana, Alabama, California, Louisiana, and North Carolina!  Anyone from your state coming?  This is the weekend of meeting forever friends, as our directors can share with you!

*Who else might be there?  Someone who has traveled this road before us!  Let me present one of our Keynote Speakers!

Kathy Rabideau helped found Catholic Schoolhouse in 2009. Never intending or imagining that CSH would reach and bless so many people, Kathy simply followed God, one step in front of the other. This January she comes to share with you joy in the belief that all of us are on a similar amazing journey.

Come be inspired as she helps you recognize the beauty in our mission and your role in that mission: What you are doing in your family is so much bigger than yourself and your kids!

Prayer Requests:
Continued prayers for Valerie and her family.
Prayers for safe delivery of the L baby!
Prayers for homeschooling from a place from rest!
Prayers for all those who are sick and those with medical issues.

Recap of Week 7:
St. Ignatius class:
The dialectic class has began their journey into the adventures of Don Quixote. We had a lively discussion on the power and influence of books. In IEW, we are learning how to some-a-rize for research. The boys got some pent up energy out having races before they went to science.

We had fun making the layers of the earth with playdoh and clay.  I’m not sure if any made it home intact, but during science you could see the 4 layers.  All classes were excited to be back in school, but had good self-control.
The dialectic class had a few fun experiments with friction.  It was great to have Aaron back, but we missed Joshua this week.

St. Mother Teresa’s class:
We had excellent substitute tutors in this class with Ms. Paula and Mr. Tim.  The scholars, of course, missed Ms. Heather and Ms. Jennifer, but they did amazing going through the lesson plan.

All of our artists were excited to begin quarter two and learn about a new artist and composer. We worked in the technique of foreshortening and analyzed how El Greco used that technique in his painting of St. Matthew. Mozart’s works played in the background and we will continue to listen and talk about him. Lots of energy this week but they all loved the project and they turned out really great.

Virtue:  Orderliness
Art:  El Greco and elongation art activity
