Recap of Week 4:

St. Therese’s class:

–  Began our day learning about Francis Xavier and using chalk to write X’s on the sidewalk.
– Used the sense of touch and sight to explore the animal skins / pellets in Science.
– The playdough came out and we rolled into ropes and cut with scissors to practice the letter L and skip counting by 2’s. Moved our bodies to the beat and skipped counted by 4’s.
-Then we used a large ball and practiced skip counting by 8’s to our Music CD.

St. Mother Teresa’s class:
St Teresa’s class was full of energy and enthusiasm this week. We had fun learning some of the traditional Haka warrior dance after finding this week’s countries on a map. We worked diligently on our ongoing Ten Commandments tablet as well as our history timeline cards. As always, everyone enjoyed the little cat & mouse game. We are looking forward to continuing to grow in virtue as the weeks pass on and can’t wait for this Thursday!

Art was fun this week as we moved on to begin learning about the works of Albrecht Dürer. Trying to paint our bunnies with detail was great fun, paint is always an enjoyable medium. Dialectic started on their first project working on perspective using watercolors and their imaginations to draw trees and such along an open road. Looking forward to the week ahead and more Albrecht Dürer.

Wow!  We had such a great time with Mr. Dillon from Walter B. Jacobs.  Almost everyone loved touching the animal furs and skulls.  We learned that there’s another category that should be added to our memory work:  insectivores!  St. Maximllian’s class was also happy to have St. Ignatius’ class share in the experience!  More pictures in our Basecamp Yearbook!
